About This Project

Heath and his 1978 Torana Hatch won Street Machine of the Year in 2024 (SMOTY) which was an extraordinary effort considering he built the car predominantly by himself

What makes Heath's Hatch truly special is that it's the definition of a Street Machine. He drives the wheels off it, traveling across the country and pushing it to its absolute limits on the racetrack without hesitation.

On a personal note, I'm beyond proud of what Heath has accomplished. We’ve been mates since he was an annoying 14 or 15-year-old newbie on the GMH Torana.com.au forums - long before he could drive, wrench on a car, or even figure out the windows in my old HQ Premier. We’re honoured to have played even a tiny part in your journey to this incredible milestone. Keep driving the wheels off the car - you're an inspiration to so many other people currently turning spanners on their own cars at home!
